Self-Certification is a simplified and fast-track approval system for small residential buildings that meet specific conditions.
When Self-Certification Approval Applies?
Self-Certification can be used for Residential Buildings that satisfy both criteria below:
1. Built-up Area Condition
The total built-up area must be below 3,500 sq.ft.
2. Plot Size Condition
The land/plot area must be below 2,500 sq.ft.
If both conditions are satisfied, approval is issued by the Urban Local Body (Corporation / Municipal Council / Town Panchayat) through Self-Certification Mode.

Documents Required for Self-Certification Approval

- Patta
- Land Approval Document
- Chitta & Adangal / A-Register Extract
- Encumbrance Certificate (EC) – Minimum 10–20 years
- FMB Sketch
- Field Measurement Map (Re-Survey Number)
- NA Conversion Certificate (if agricultural land converted to non-agricultural use)
